Coroos is a Dutch family business, in operation since 1957. Our core competence is the preservation of fruits, vegetables and pulses, in various packages. Besides the traditional cans and jars, we also fill cups, pouches, bags and drums with premium fruit and vegetable blends. Our 450 employees make it possible to produce around 375 million consumer units per year. We are specialised in the production of high-quality, 100% plant- based products without additives, sugar and salt. By applying new innovative techniques in our certified factories, Coroos is able to prepare semi-fresh fruit and vegetables meals and meal components with longer shelf life, while retaining the bite, colour and taste of the fresh raw materials. We create tailor made, healthy convenience products. Our product range includes, but is not limited to, fruit and vegetable purees and compotes, smoothie bowls, vegan meals (such as chili sin carne), tapenades, salad dressings, toppings, sauces and soups. Our products are also available as organic variants.

MAIN INNOVATION GOALS

Coroos is continuously innovating and optimizing their products and production process. People are getting more and more aware that it is not sustainable to eat meat every day. It can be difficult, however, to prepare healthy, natural and delicious vegan or vegetarian recipes. We are developing convenient plant based alternatives for whole meals and meal components without conservatives. With these products, we make it easier to eat less or no meat. We focus on the development of 100% clean label products without added salt, sugar and additives. The products are ready to eat, or only require a flexible finishing by consumers or out-of-home services.

SPECIFIC INNOVATION NEEDS

We are always seeking for like-minded partners who also believe in convenient, healthy and plant-based food. We like to work with brands, restaurants, caring homes, meal kit providers, caterers, out-of-home services and start-ups to offer our tasty solutions to diverse consumer groups. Furthermore, we are interested in processing fruits and vegetables which cannot be sold for direct consumption, to prevent food waste.

SPECIAL OPPORTUNITIES YOU CAN OFFER STARTUPS/SCALE-UPS AND SME'S

Coroos is able to produce fruit and vegetable products at large and small scale. Besides the purees and compotes we are able to make vegan meal components, sauces and soups and many more. We can offer our modern and flexible production facilities. Our R&D employees are also happy to help in the development process to offer tailor made solutions. Because our semi-fresh products have longer shelf lives than fresh products, we can provide start-ups with more flexibility while retaining the quality.

SPECIAL EXAMPLE OF (SUCCESSFUL) PREVIOUS COOPERATION PROJECTS

One of our examples of a successful cooperation is with Boerschappen. Boerschappen is a Dutch meal box supplier who supplies local fresh fruits and vegetables to Dutch homes. However, fruits and vegetables are not harvested year-round. Also, some consumers are looking for more convenient, easy recipes. Therefore, we prepare Dutch fruits and vegetables in diverse meals and meal components such as fresh apple sauce, chili sin carne, soups and pasta sauces. The products are plant based and do not contain any additives. They are delivered chilled in plastic cups.
