Direct Source International is a proud fruit importer in an rapidly changing world. Since the start of DSI we are committed to bring added value as a partner/ service provider for both retailer and grower. Expectations are high and does not only apply for the quality of fruit itself, but also for food safety, sustainability and packaging. We believe that by closely working together you can deliver the best product.

We have a worldwide network of suppliers, the growers of our healthy fruit. Our focus is mainly on the import of grapes and citrus. However, we are also growing in the import of avocados, kiwi, mango and other exotic fruits and with the right conditions in place, we are not afraid to take a risk.

Our focus is to add value to the chain. To link the grower to the retailer at the right time and place with the right product and packaging. Therefore we opened our own packaging facility last year and plan to exceed these activities as a consequence of the realised success.

With an enthousiastic team in the Netherlands we love to do our job for our partners and to contribute to realise a satisfied and grateful world.

OUR MAIN INNOVATION GOALS

One of the objectives of DSI route 2025 is to enable everyone to enjoy fresh and healthy fruit. “Healthy" in this context means not only the nutritional value and vitamins of the fruit, but also the impact that the cultivation and sourcing of the product has on our environment/climate.

Three pillars that we have named and that receive our focus:

• Initiatives that contribute to a more sustainable world

We are certainly open to initiatives/ ideas on:

• Added value to consumers and suppliers based on our fresh products
• Product improvements with regard to shelf life and reduction of waste.
• Product packaging that has a more sustainable base
• Stimulating responsible sourcing and healthy living
• Digital access and data analytics to strengthen the chain

WHAT WE CAN OFFER STARTUPS, SCALE-UPS & SME'S

We have a worldwide network of suppliers related to fresh fruit. Our team knows the demand in the market and looks for the best possibilities. We have inhouse knowledge of the logistics process including custom packaging, monitoring food safety, on-time delivery and strong insights on consumer needs and supermarket development.

There is always willingness to share ideas and knowledge to stimulate and grow fresh and healthy food!

WE ARE PROUD OF...

We are proud of various partnerships with regard to innovation, for example our recent started partnership with CO2 Correct. This label makes it immediately clear that the carbon foodprint of the purchased fruit is compensated. The label makes sustainability accessible and directly visible for the consumer.
