The NV Economische Impuls Zeeland (Impuls) is the Regional development agency of Zeeland. Our goal is to increase the dynamism of the Zeeland economy. Impuls offers quick access to everything so you can excel as an entrepreneur in Zeeland, such as financing, business support and the right contacts. With 35 people we help entrepreneurs with funding, internationalisation and location (issues) and we stimulate innovation in important sectors via programs and projects with the Triple Helix. Via Impuls Zeeland you may find a business partner, financier or the perfect location for your business. We are continually on the look-out for business opportunities and specific opportunities in Zeeland for innovative and sustainable business ventures.

In Zeeland, we maneuver in all corners of the business world. We are associated to institutes of higher education, have short lines to governmental organizations and maintain ties to economically interesting neighboring regions, such as Antwerp and Brabant. Within this large network we play a central, connecting role. This is how we further entrepreneurship in Zeeland, commissioned by the Province of Zeeland. We work independently and free of charge.

OUR MAIN INNOVATION GOALS

In Zeeland the agrifood sector plays a vital role in the economy. The region is the largest arable farming province in the Netherlands with three quarters of the land being used for food production. Nowhere in Europe is there a location where the water reaches so far inland and where this is already being put to maximum use for the fishing industry, crustacean and shellfish-farming and aquaculture. Not only for production, but also for the many possibilities Zeeland offers for the processing, packaging, storage and transshipment and transport of agrifood products.

Important themes where Impuls Zeeland helps companies in innovation, value creation and sustainable solutions are:

• Protein transition
• Robotics and food processing
• Blue economy and aquaculture
• Circular economy

Furthermore is Zeeland an excellent strategic location for certain food companies. We try to stimulate companies in land-based aquaculture, plant-based meat and insect-based proteins to settle in Zeeland.

SPECIFIC INNOVATION NEEDS

We want to stimulate innovation in a broad perspective. In certain sectors we stick with the (future) trends, like our food department as mentioned here above. But from our funding department we’re financing all kind of innovations.
